[Gift Box] Silver Cardboard Box
The belts (Obi), especially belts of high grades, have for most of the practitioners a very special signification. A belt is often one of the most appreciated gifts a Judoka can have. A wrapping can be the final touch for an already great gift. We, therefore, propose a traditional Japanese carton made (covered with aluminum). On the top of the box, you will find the KuSakura logo (old style) and the kanji 御帯 inscription. It means "The belt" in Japanese. The silver cardboard box is made in a traditional manner, a Japanese process still very common today for making gift boxes.
A superior model made of wood Kiri (Japanese light-weight wood) to pack the belt.

This wooden box is made of Kiri, a wood used for nearly two thousand years e.g. for jewelry boxes or accessories, because of its excellent resistance to heat, moisture, and its light-weight.
In the rest of the world, Kiri is also known as Paulownia. It is widely used in Japan for the crafting of koto (a traditional Japanese stringed musical instrument).
This box is engraved with the Kanji 御帯, pronounced "O'Obi", and meaning "belt".
This box is also available as an option on each belt product sheet.

Red and White Cotton Belt - Official Kata - JRWK
Theoretically reserved for Judoka from the 6th to the 8th Dan, the red and white Judo belt is also used in traditional Jujutsu.
This is the official Kata belt of the Kodokan and the Japanese Judo Federation It features the official Kodokan logo, the famous cherry blossom shaped Japanese flag. This logo is not a label (Orimono in Japanese) but a thick embroidery stitched onto the belt. More flexible and therefore allowing a tighter knot than the JRW belt, we recommend this type to traditional Jujutsu practitioners needing a belt that stays fastened during practice. Of course, this belt is perfectly suited for 6th Dan and above Judo Kata competitors.
100% cotton, this Obi is similar in its composition to black belts, made of a white cotton core and a cotton outer layer alternately red and white. In terms of rigidity, this belt is comparable to the JOXB model, the official International Judo Federation black belt.
The length of each red and white section varies between 12cm and 18cm depending on the belt's size and are evenly distributed. To adapt to the overall length of the belt, both ends are always red, therefore their length may vary from the other sections.
Optionally with this belt, we offer a storage or gift box from either silver cardboard or wood called Kiri. The Kiri is a traditional lightweight wood, often used in ancient times for the conservation of precious objects because of its characteristics to absorb humidity and resist fire.

Judo Belt Sizing Advice
The size table and recommendation is available by clicking on the "How to Choose your Judo belt" above the description, or on the dedicated How to choose your Judo Belt - Belt Size & Comparative Charts page.
The waist size indicated is a standard recommendation. Please adjust the length to your liking, shorter or longer than the classic IJF standards.
The recommendation is made with a standard 'Judo' knot, not a double knot. If you do not do a simple knot, please consider a half-size longer to allow more room for the knot. Same advice for thick belts (which isn't the case of this IJF belt).
Please be careful with embroidery length as it might get caught in the knot. Allow 3 cm/letter in Japanese, which means a standard name such as "Christopher" translated in Japanese as "クリストファー" would be about 20 cm long. We recommend avoiding long embroidery, or first + family name if you have long names.
